  • • A folder or USB drive for saving work

  • • 16GB or 32GB USB drive
  • • Cisco Packet Tracer, VirtualBox, Wireshark, Nmap
  • • Ethernet cable
  • • Optional: second computer, used router
  • • Optional: RJ45 connectors and crimping tool

No equipment? Start here.

  • No router: use Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • No second computer: use a virtual machine in VirtualBox.
  • No cable tools: study the T568B reference and complete a diagram activity.
  • Cannot install software: use screenshots, videos, and paper-based planning templates until you can access a lab computer.
  • No internet on lab computer: use a separate device to download files and transfer via USB.
